LUBBOCK, Texas (NEWS RELEASE) – Garret McGuire, one of the nation’s top recruiters the past two seasons at Nebraska, has joined the Texas Tech coaching staff as its running backs coach, Texas Tech Athletics announced Wednesday.
McGuire arrives at Texas Tech following two seasons as the wide receivers coach at Nebraska and then two years as an offensive assistant with the Carolina Panthers. The Huskers signed consecutive top-25 classes the past two seasons with McGuire on staff for a Nebraska program that is returning to a bowl game this year for the first time since 2016.
McGuire, the son of Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire, will oversee the running backs with the Red Raiders, while associate head coach Kenny Perry will continue as special teams coordinator and remain in the offensive staff room…
