LUBBOCK, Texas — Lunar New Year or as many may know it as, Chinese New Year, is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. It is the most important holiday in China.
Although the Lunar New Year isn’t until January 29, the Mandarin Club at Lubbock High School held a Lunar New Year Culture Fest on Thursday night and it all was in hopes of bringing the culture experience to the Lubbock community.
