Texans deserve better: Planned Parenthood TX affiliates respond to maternal mortality in the state

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) —  According to statistics from independent publication ProPublica , maternal mortality has risen 56% in Texas since a new law went into effect, compared with the 11% rise nationwide during the same period.

Today, Texas has three overlapping abortion bans: Senate Bill 8 (SB 8) plus two more total bans that took place after Roe V. Wade was overturned in 2022.
