COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – With the cold air place, snow is likely to move into west Georgia and east Alabama Tuesday afternoon and evening. Driving could become difficult or even dangerous throughout the area. In general, the highest impacts are expected the farther south you go.
SNOW TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING:
Cloudy, cold and dry for the morning commute with temperatures in the 20s Tuesday. Snow flurries could begin for some mid to late morning, but shouldn’t cause problems initially. Snow showers become more likely toward midday and during the afternoon hours, heavy at times in spots, before the snow tapers down by 9 PM ET. The heaviest snow could be around the late afternoon or the evening commute.
ACCUMULATIONS AND IMPACTS:
Almost all of us are likely to get measurable snow, but it will vary. As always, every city, town, community won’t be treated equally by Mother Nature.
Far northern areas like LaGrange, West Point and LaFayette have a bigger ‘bust’ potential with generally lower totals in the forecast (closer to a dusting or an inch, perhaps even a few spots getting nothing). Residents are cautioned though, even a fairly small amount of snow can cause slick roads, bridges and overpasses with this cold…
