Houston County softball splits doubleheader against South Paulding

WARNER ROBINS — In the second round of the GHSA 5A State Tournament, the Houston County Lady Bears split the first two games against the South Paulding Lady Spartans, losing Game 1 6-3 and winning Game 2 by a score of 10-1.

Houston County (22-10) was able to put the ball in play multiple times throughout the afternoon, but poor baserunning and an opposing pitcher who was hurling strikes all night led to their downfall.

South Paulding (17-9) found their offensive groove in the fourth inning and never looked back.
