That summer, they took their shared love of aquariums and launched a company with just one client, Medical Dental Pharmacy (a quick hop from Tom’s parents’ backyard, no less). What started as a small business with a big dream has grown into a nationally recognized name in the aquarium industry.
Tom’s passion for aquariums started early. Growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he kept his first tank as a 5th grader after his teacher sold him a chrome-framed, slate-bottomed ten-gallon aquarium. From there, his journey took him from working at aquarium stores to helping establish the very first aquatic exhibits at the Minnesota Zoo for his Eagle Scout project. When the family relocated to Fresno, Aletha encouraged Tom to turn his passion into a company focused on providing customers with personalized, professional care.
