Huntsville’s First Stop is temporarily taking on a new mission to ensure nobody gets left in the cold during this week’s predicted Arctic blast. It will operate a three-day overnight shelter.
First Stop is also seeking volunteers and donations to help cover the cost of this temporary overnight shelter.
“Taking this step will put a financial strain on us, but it’s a strain we’re willing to lean into to help our clients,” said First Stop Executive Director Chad Rodriguez. “But it does put a pinch on our budget and we hope through our donors and volunteers we can make that up.”…
