CT restaurateur settles with building owner over unpaid rent. Second spot closed temporarily

The high-profile owner of a trendy Connecticut restaurant — embroiled for months in a dispute over tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid rent and under threat of eviction — has paid off the bill and agreed to make monthly rent payments on the first of every month, according to court documents .

Gina Luari, owner of downtown’s The Place 2 Be , paid off the $95,000 bill, which covered what was owed through Aug. 31. The first rent payment on Sept. 1 of about $8,200 also was paid, according to Luari and the landlord, 5CP Master Lease LLC.

“Payments have been made in full,” Luari said, in a statement to The Courant. She declined further comment…
