Waseca mayoral candidates debate local issues, address controversies

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, two Waseca mayoral candidates took the stage in a debate over the city of Waseca.

Both incumbent Randy Zimmerman and challenger Milton Madson believe they are the best candidate for mayor, and they revealed their reasons why that night in the auditorium of the Waseca High School in collaboration with students and teachers in related classes. Although both contenders feel they are the correct choice for mayor, it is ultimately up to the people of Waseca who they elect to lead their city to success.

Zimmerman is the current mayor of Waseca, a lifelong resident with degrees in Construction Management and Business Administration. He prides himself in his role in Waseca’s tight-knit community, having served on the School Board for 10 years, spent 18 years working in the district’s band program, and coaching eighth-grade volleyball…
