A New Year is upon us. As such I wanted to turn our attention to the coming transition in 1900 to 1901:
December 20, 1900 – Hearty Welcome For Twentieth Century –
ZEPHYR’S suggestion that Waynesboro give an enthusiastic welcome to the Twentieth Century has met with unanimous approval. It struck a popular chord and there can be no doubt of the success of the proposed meeting in the academy of music. ZEPHYR’S suggestion, made in yesterday’s paper, was, in brief, this:
That a public meeting be held in the academy of music, Monday evening, December 31, beginning at 9 o’clock and continuing until after the town clock has struck the hour of twelve and ushered in the Twentieth Century.
