Crash in Alcoa sends two people to the hospital, police say

ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Alcoa Police Department said two people were injured in a crash Monday afternoon.

APD said the crash happened at the intersection of Bessemer Street and Calderwood Street at around 2 p.m. on Monday. Three cars were involved in the crash, including one that had caught fire.

A 70-year-old man from Maryville was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in serious condition, APD said, and a 20-year-old Alcoa woman was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital with minor injuries…
