On New Year’s Day, Kim Caldwell was en route to the airport on a road trip for her first SEC game as head coach of the Lady Vols basketball team.
The head coach, whose schedule has been packed since she arrived last April, had an open window of time for an interview with this website. The topics ranged from her life changes in 2024 to portal and high school recruiting in a short timeline to SEC play to the naysayers after Tennessee selected her to take the reins of what remains the mothership of women’s basketball because of the legacy of the late Pat Summitt.
