CINCINNATI (WXIX) – It was a very warm first day of fall with portions of the tri-state seeing rain! The official high at CVG was 86° after a morning low of 60°. Some areas east saw more than a half of an inch of rainfall, but areas north of Hillsboro did see some wind damage from a cluster of storms that developed Sunday afternoon.

The rainfall Sunday evening is part of a system that will be moving into the Ohio Valley and will deliver widespread rain and thunderstorms Monday afternoon and Tuesday and could be the best opportunity of soaking rain we’ve had in quite a while. A few showers with a couple of rumbles of thunder will be possible Wednesday too. Rainfall totals could be anywhere from 0.5″ to 1.0″, especially late Monday night and Tuesday.

In addition to the rain chances, temperatures will also cool down with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s by the middle of next week. It will still be above normal by that time, but much more manageable for outdoor activities!…
