Cincinnati shortstop Elly De La Cruz made history when he stole third base in the fifth inning Wednesday in the Reds’ road victory against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The theft was the 60th of the season for De La Cruz, who became the fifth player since 1901 to have at least 60 steals and 20 homers in a season.

After stealing the base, De La Cruz, 22, subsequently scored to tie game at 6-6. Three innings later, he hit his 22nd homer of the year, and he finished 3-for-4 as the Reds won 11-7…
