University of Dayton gets $1.1 million to improve church accessibility for kids

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — The University of Dayton (UD) was granted $1.1 million to make church, worship and prayer more accessible for children with disabilities.

Lilly Endowment’s Nurturing Children Through Worship and Prayer Initiative aims to help Christian churches include these kids by giving funds to address accessibility concerns, cost, space, and training challenges. The Initiative is muti-denominational, spanning both Catholic and Protestant traditions; including evangelical, Orthodox, Anabaptist and Pentecostal parishes.
