Akron man pleads guilty as co-conspirator in 2023 slaying of DoorDash delivery driver

A 22-year-old Akron man pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of conspiracy to murder Friday hours before he was scheduled to face a jury trial in the 2023 killing of a DoorDash delivery driver .

Court documents show Matthew Couch accepted a plea deal with Summit County prosecutors. In exchange for the reduced charge and having one count of murder and felonious assault dismissed, he agreed to testify against co-defendant Derek Ransome-Fromby.

Ransome-Fromby, 21, is accused of shooting and killing 22-year-old Jaevierre Greer of Akron. He is charged with felonious assault, murder and felony murder, according to court documents. He is represented by attorneys Jonathan Sinn and Eddie Sipplen…
