Historic golf course seeks $1.5 million to install an irrigation system to ensure its future

Canton, Ohio (Aug. 23, 2024) – Clearview Golf Club announced today that the Clearview Legacy Campaign, a fundraising initiative aimed at securing the future of the historic and vital community resource, has secured more than $700,000 in commitments. The campaign seeks to raise a total of $1.5 million to fund the installation of a much-needed irrigation system, ensuring the sustainability and continued operation of Clearview Golf Club.

Clearview Golf Club, which was founded in 1946 by William “Bill” Powell as the only golf course in America built, owned and operated by an African American, is more than just a place to play golf.
