UNION GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) — Racine County deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision Thursday, Jan. 9 at around 6 p.m. at CTH KR and STH 45 in Union Grove. A silver Honda Civic was reportedly on fire with the driver inside when deputies arrived.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies removed the unresponsive woman from the Civic and extinguished the fire using squad car equipment.
Emergency medical personnel treated the woman at the scene before she was flown to Froedtert Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators determined a Ram pickup truck hauling an aluminum trailer failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the Civic. The crash caused the trailer to overturn and the Civic to catch fire.
The crash is under investigation…
