House Fire in Trout Valley

On January 8, 2025, at 2:25 p.m., the Cary Fire Protection District responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 0-100 block of Marryat Road in Trout Valley.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a large two-story residence with significant fire showing from the north side of the structure.

Due to the absence of hydrants in the area, a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) upgrade was activated to request additional manpower and water resources to respond to the scene and to backfill the station.

Rural water operations were established at the roadway, with water shuttled to the scene to support firefighting efforts.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 25 minutes.

As the initial fire was being knocked down, firefighters entered the home to conduct thorough searches to ensure no occupants were inside.

Crews also worked to cut holes in the roof to check for fire extension and to exhaust heat from the attic space.
