TWO MEN SENTENCED TO A COMBINED TWENTY YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR POSSESSING OVER $400,000 WORTH OF COCAINE

The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office announces that Cristian Chavez-Salgado, 27, of Chicago, Illinois, was sentenced to twelve years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The sentence was handed down on April 9, 2025, by the Honorable Judge Christopher Harmon after Chavez-Salgado entered a negotiated plea of guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 1 felony.

Enrique Navar-Favela, 27, of Stone Park, Illinois, was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on April 11, 2025, by the Honorable Judge Harmon, after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class 1 felony.

On July 2, 2024, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Task Force learned of a drug transaction scheduled to occur in McHenry, Illinois. Chavez-Salgado and Navar-Favela arrived at the McHenry Super 8 that afternoon. Chavez-Salgado was the driver of their vehicle.
