On November 1 and 2, Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center (SRMEC) will again host “24 Hours on the Ridge,” conceived in 2021 as a fundraising event to be held in conjunction with the annual Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree, which supports non-profit organizations throughout Adams County, Pennsylvania.
Rather than closing at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, the Museum will remain open a full additional 24 hours, until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, each day filled with engaging activities and entertainment such as a Candlelight Illumination for all known patients of the Seminary Hospital, live podcast recordings, special guest speakers, living historians, a midnight screening of the film Gettysburg, special after-hours Cupola Tours, and much more.
During this ambitious event, Museum Admission will be FREE, with donations toward the Giving Spree encouraged and appreciated.
During the winter, even though visitation to Gettysburg generally wanes, the Museum still bears significant costs to ensure that our 192-year-old building and artifacts within stay safe. Our staff also spends this time engaged in tasks to bring our educational message to learners across the globe and plan innovative on-site programing for the upcoming year. Any donations will support this critical work…
