Here’s how to keep pipes from freezing, plus other cold-weather tips

A few days into the new year, bitter cold has come to central Pennsylvania. Temperatures are dropping — it was in the 60s last week, but below freezing this week. The air will feel even colder due to wind gusts. There’s a chance of snow Friday and Monday.

And it’s not just in the Harrisburg area. Temperatures are about to dip all over the country due to multiple Arctic outbreaks that could affect more than 250 million people in the southern, central and eastern United States into the middle of the month, according to AccuWeather.
