After moving to Brevard County 25 years ago and working in every facet of the eye care industry, from corporate eye care to more traditional optometry and ophthalmology offices, Stacie Hart Sidwell decided to open her own optical shop in 2019. She recently moved the office from Port St. John to the heart of Cocoa Village — a central location that gives Freedom Optical increased exposure. In the short time since the office opened, they are already reaching new patients.
Freedom Optical uses a unique tele-optometry model to meet the needs of its patients and give them individualized care. With the tele-optometry model, patients participate in a thorough in-office exam using state-of-the-art equipment. The exam includes screening for cataracts and glaucoma, retinal imaging, as well as checking peripheral vision and depth and color perception. The eye exam is followed by a telehealth visit with an optometrist.
