Panic buying begins after dock workers strike

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Stalled union negotiations have tens of thousands of dock workers on strike around the United States. The situation has many worried about the supply chain, and some in the Mid-South started panic buying Tuesday.

Customers at the Sam’s Club on Covington Pike described the inside of the store as “mayhem.”

FOX13 spotted customers rolling out carts piled high with toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies all Tuesday afternoon. When asked why, those customers repeatedly blamed the strike. “Better be safe than sorry,” Yalonda Brown said. “Be prepared.”…
