Pile-up caused morning traffic delays

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – The Monday morning commute was dicey for motorists traveling I-90.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reported a crash closed the ramp from I-71 southbound to I-90 westbound at about 6:30 a.m. The ramp remained closed for about an hour before reopening shortly after 7:30 a.m.

Several lanes of I-90 eastbound were also blocked near W. 44th Street due to another crash that took place at about 7 a.m. An ODOT camera showed what appeared to be a 5-car pile-up.

The vehicles involved were eventually moved to the far right lanes, but the eastbound interstate was temporarily shut down as crews worked to clear debris from the crash.
