OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – The Mississippi Arts Commission awarded $3.5 million to 20 arts programs in the state through the Building Fund for the Arts grant.
The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center in Ocean Springs was awarded $291,000. The funding will go toward stabilizing the exterior and repairing the interior.
The brick around the windows of the nearly 100-year-old building is deteriorating, causing water damage. The new grant is the final piece of funding to begin the restoration of the Mary C.
