Mississippi couple arrested for installing faulty fire suppression systems in counties across state

A Mississippi couple has been arrested for allegedly installing faulty and used fire suppression systems in commercial kitchens across at least 13 Mississippi counties.

Daniel and Sherri Finnegan were taken into custody on Wednesday, August 21, and booked into the Smith County Jail. They are facing charges of false pretense and violations of the Mississippi Fire Prevention Code.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) reported that the systems installed by the Finnegans were neither functional nor tested before being put into service, posing significant risks in the event of a fire.
