The Henegar Center is starting the new year with a timeless classic about the power of positive transformation. The beloved Lerner and Loewe musical “My Fair Lady” will be presented at the downtown Melbourne theater from Jan. 17 through Feb. 9.
“My Fair Lady” follows Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower seller in turn-of-the-20th-century London whose life takes a swift turn when she becomes the subject of a social experiment. Professor Henry Higgins, a phonetics expert, bets that he can transform Eliza’s coarse accent and streetwise manners into that of a proper English lady, suitable for high society.
