The Osceola School District shared some good news this week, its graduation rate significantly improved to 88.8%, a four-percentage point increase from the 2022-2023 school year, according to data released Thursday by the Florida Department of Education. This improvement reflects gains across all public, comprehensive high schools in the district. Similarly, Florida’s statewide high school graduation rate rose from 88% to 89.7%.
Several highlights for the Osceola School District include:
- Zenith Accelerated Academy, Liberty High School, and Gateway High School all increased graduation rates by 10 or more percentage points.
- The graduation rates of NeoCity Academy, Osceola County School for the Arts, and Professional & Technical High School maintained a 100% graduation rate.
- The School District of Osceola County’s magnet and traditional comprehensive public high schools achieved a graduation rate of 91%, while Osceola charter high schools achieved a graduation rate of 71%. Both are included in our overall reported graduation rate.|
- Graduation rates for students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and economically disadvantaged students all showed improvement compared to last year.
“Yesterday’s Florida Department of Education announcement of 2023-2024 graduation rates are a testament to the hardworking members of the SDOC Class of 2024, the teachers that taught them since Pre-K, our dedicated school counselors, dynamic school leaders, and amazing community support,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff. “While we will not rest until all students graduate with post-secondary plans, yesterday’s news is affirmation that our School Board and our 8,000 SDOC team members are leading the way toward educational excellence each and every Day One!”
