Rockledge man arrested in armed robbery at Cocoa Beach 7-Eleven; linked to 2nd theft

A 29-year-old Rockledge man investigators said is linked to at least two armed robberies — including one at a bail bonds office and another involving a beachside convenience store — has been arrested.

Rasheem Rudolph Jones, identified by Brevard County sheriff’s investigators as a gang member, was charged with the Jan. 5 robbery of a 7-Eleven store at 190 East Cocoa Beach Causeway, court records show. Jones was charged with possession of a firearm, aggravated with a deadly weapon, grand theft, and robbery with a firearm.

Cigars, lottery tickets taken by armed men

Investigators said two men wearing ski masks went into the 7-Eleven store and took cigars and $5,000 worth of scratch-off Florida Lottery tickets while waving a small pistol at the store clerk.

Brevard County sheriff’s investigators later linked the same pair to the Jan. 6 robbery of a Moncrief Bail Bonds office. In that case, investigators said, two masked men matching the description of the robbers in the 7-Eleven case entered the business and demanded cash from the clerk, court records show.
