Video: Emergency forces Royal Caribbean ship back to port

Sitting at dinner during the 5 p.m. early setting, my tablemate, a former Coast Guard officer, noticed that our ship had fully stopped moving. That’s not typical, he explained, given that we had just left port and should theoretically be picking up speed as we head toward international waters.

Instead, we were completely still which suggested that perhaps we were having a propulsion problem or otherwise struggling to get the ship moving forward.
