NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Dozens of loaded ships are still moving up and down the Mississippi River in New Orleans on Wednesday (Oct. 2), despite an International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) strike.
While container shipping is shut down at the Port of New Orleans and 35 other Eastern and Gulf Coast ports, bulk cargo shipping continues to operate, employing thousands of workers in the region.
