NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – There’s a new leader at the under-investigation Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office Civil Rights Division.
DA Jason Williams confirmed Tuesday (Nov. 19) that former division head Emily Maw had resigned and that former juvenile public defender Michael Grey will replace her.
Maw, who previously headed Innocence Project New Orleans, joined Williams’ office to lead the new division in 2021. It’s stated goal was “to address past injustices, promote transparency and accountability within the criminal justice system, and hold accountable those who misuse legal, economic or political power to exploit vulnerable communities.”…
