More than $200,000 raised at Walk to End Alzheimer’s

MERRIMACK, N.H. — Hundreds of thousands of dollars are pouring in to find a cure for Alzheimer’s from the Granite State, and it’s all thanks to a very purple event.

Around 1,500 people came to Merrimack Premium Outlets Saturday morning for the Central New Hampshire “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” The annual event invites fundraisers to take a 1.3-mile walk to show support for those affected by the disease. While free to attend, it’s up to participants to fundraise through their own efforts.

Advocate and participant Kerry Dennis says getting her Alzheimer’s diagnosis was a lonely experience. But when the time was right, having help from those around her changed that. Now, it’s a message she’s sending to others fighting their own battle with the disease…
