WAKEFIELD, N.H. (WWLP) – New Hampshire police have released new information on the four family members from Newton who died on Christmas Day from carbon monoxide poisoning.

NBC Boston states that 52-year-old Matthew Goldstein , 54-year-old Lyla Goldstein , 22-year-old Valerie Goldstein and 19-year-old Violet Goldstein , all of Newton, Massachusetts, were found dead in a home on Province Lake Road. Matthew Goldstein was identified as a teacher at the Edith C. Baker School in Brookline.
Police found the home’s propane gas heating system had damage to its ventilation system, causing a malfunction.
The New Hampshire Division of Fire Safety is urging people to check their heating systems, and to make sure that their carbon monoxide alarms are working.
