MIRAMAR, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A man wanted on a nationwide extradition narcotics warrant out of Texas was arrested on Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, which includes members of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
According to WCSO, Michael Anthony Renteria, 35, had active warrants out of Escambia County for failure to appear, and Walton County for fleeing, or eluding, in addition to the warrant out of Texas. Renteria had been running from his Texas warrants for around five years, WCSO says.
Renteria was taken into custody at a hotel on Highway 98 in Miramar Beach and pretended to be his brother after he was detained, WCSO says.
