9 passengers rescued after vessel runs out of power at East Haven beach

EAST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – The Coast Guard responded to a distress call at the East Haven Town Beach regarding a vessel in trouble.

According to the East Haven Fire Chief, the forty-two feet vessel had run out of power while it was coming from Milford.

The East Haven Fire Department Marines were on the scene and successfully rescued nine passengers, who were brought to shore and treated for exposure to the elements.
