SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man convicted in connection with a murder over 20 years ago was arrested in Springfield Friday after police found a firearm during a traffic stop.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop after they observed a vehicle with a suspended registration pull into a gas station on Main Street. An inventory search was performed inside the car before it was towed because it was unregistered.
Police found an illegally loaded firearm under the driver’s seat mat and arrested 45-year-old Nemlon Adams of Manchester, Connecticut.
Adams is charged with the following:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Firearm Violation with 1 Prior Violent/Drug Crime
