Perdue Farms donates truck load of chicken to the Food Bank of Delaware

Milford, De. – Chicken is being used for charity! Perdue Farms donated 40,000 pounds of chicken to the Food Bank of Delaware, Wednesday, September 25th.

Every year Perdue donates hundreds of thousands of chickens to food banks across the eastern shore as part of a long-standing partnership. All chicken donated was non- antibiotic, and the Milford Facility Director of Operations for Purdue Foods, Edgardo Torres says their goal today was to help those who can’t afford to help themselves. “We basically donated 400,000 pounds of protein along the east coast to 10 different food banks… One out of 7 Delawareans suffer from food insecurity. And i think that we as a company, have the ability, as being a food company, we have the ability to help with that.”…
