Ex-LIRR signalman sentenced to year of probation for lying about inspection before derailment

A former Long Island Rail Road employee charged with lying about an inspection prior to a derailment has been sentenced to one year of probation, according to officials. In 2023, Stuart Conklin pleaded guilty to falsely claiming he inspected an electrical rail component in April 2019.
