The FDNY said no injuries were reported after firefighters responded to a call about a gas odor emanating from a stove in Fordham Manor on Tuesday.
Department officials said the FDNY went to a residential building at 2435 Morris Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 17, after receiving a call at 10:10 a.m. about the gas odor which they said was coming from the second floor of the home. They said the FDNY units on the scene found an issue with the stove, completed their checks and cleared the scene within 35 minutes with no reported injuries.
Norwood News visited the home to ask what had happened but either nobody answered or nobody was home. The building is located next to the Morris Group Family Day Care. We also knocked at the door of the building housing the daycare and a woman who answered said she saw the FDNY arrive next door earlier that day but didn’t have any more information.
