STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — While the borough seems to have been hit with what can be considered a glancing blow in terms of Monday’s snowfall totals, that’s not to say that between cold temperatures and windy conditions, wintry weather is expected to leave the area anytime soon.
“Tonight, the forecast is increasingly windy and turning colder, as there was not much in the way of wind while it was snowing,” Bob Larson, a senior meteorologist with AccuWeather, told the Advance/SILive.com. “But winds have started to pick up a little bit and it will be gusty tonight.”
Wind speeds are expected to be in the realm of 15 mph to 25 mph, with gusts of up to 30 mph as temperatures drop down into the lower 20’s, Larson explained…
