Lamont, Blumenthal join forces in support of Kids Online Safety Act

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Gov. Ned Lamont and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn) joined forces on Friday to try and pass the Kids Online Safety Act as soon as possible.

The state leaders spoke with students at the Barnard Environmental Science and Technology School in New Haven, asking them how they feel about social media. They discussed the dangers that young people face online and the need for protections.

The bill would regulate the features that kids use on social media platforms in attempts to reduce harms and addictiveness.
