THIBODAUX, La. (WVUE) – A Georgia man was arrested after attempting to collect $40,000 from an elderly scam victim in Thibodaux.
Diego Diaz, 47, was taken into custody on Dec. 11 after allegedly acting as a courier in a fraud scheme targeting the victim. Investigators, working with the resident, set up a sting operation after the man reported suspicious calls claiming his money was at risk due to money laundering.
