Ragsdale Tells Lawmakers No to Phone Ban, Yes to THC Crackdown

CUMBERLAND — In an update to lawmakers Thursday, Superintendent Chris Ragsdale said he has no plans to institute a phone ban in the Cobb County School District.

“At the present time, we are not doing anything with banning cellphones,” Ragsdale said. “… I have 100% faith and confidence in my teachers to be able to manage that class.”

Ragsdale’s take on tech differs from Marietta City Schools Superintendent Grant Rivera, who barred cellphones and smartwatches from all sixth, seventh and eighth grade classrooms in his district this year…
