A fatal pile-driving incident kills man in Delaware’s Prime Hook Beach

A worker from Illinois lost his life at Prime Hook Beach Saturday, according to Sussex County EMS and Delaware State Police.

At 1:49 p.m., Delaware State Police’s Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit was dispatched to a residential construction project on the 29000 block of Pine St. in the small, unincorporated community of Prime Hook Beach, about a block from the ocean.

When troopers arrived at the scene, preliminary findings indicated what state troopers believe to be an industrial accident.
