Liberty Elementary School celebrates ‘Thank a Police Officer Day’

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) – Police officers in Mishawaka received a heartwarming thank you on Wednesday at Liberty Elementary School’s second annual “Thank a Police Officer Day” parade.

Staff and students lined the sidewalks of the school holding posters and cheering on police as they drove through the parking lot. Several students also showed their appreciation for local law enforcement by giving them “thank you” cards.

The event was created last year by Kelly Foley, a fourth-grade teacher at Liberty. It’s cherished by many in the community, including the officers who took part in it…
