Today has been a rather dreary and damp day to wrap up the weekend with high temperatures reaching the middle and upper 50s. Isolated showers and persistent drizzle will likely come to an end around sunset with cloudy skies overnight. Winds will remain breezy out the southeast with occasional gusts between 15 and 20 miles per hour. Overnight lows will be falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s through daybreak Monday.
Monday will stay mostly cloudy but high temperatures will be trending well above average in the middle and upper 60s. Breezy winds will persist throughout the day with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour at times. Another round of rainfall will be on the way for areas in Northwest Alabama by the afternoon with increasing rain chances for much of the Tennessee Valley during the evening. Embedded thunderstorms will be possible overnight into Tuesday morning, but no severe weather is expected.
Showers and storms will gradually begin to taper off early Tuesday with high temperatures warming close to 70 degrees by the afternoon. Enjoy the brief break in the wet weather because more rain and isolated thunderstorms will arrive late in the day and continue into Wednesday. Periods of heavy rainfall appear likely overnight and through Wednesday morning, but the flooding threat will be fairly low. Expect beneficial rainfall amounts across much of the region with totals ranging anywhere from an inch to two inches by Wednesday evening…
