MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – CrimeStoppers will be holding their second gun buy back event of the year Saturday at True Divine Baptist Church.
Starting at 10 a.m., community members can bring any guns they no longer need or want to the church and CrimeStoppers will pay cash for them. They will pay $50 for any rifle or shotgun, $100 for any functioning handgun, and $200 for any assault or semi-automatic rifle.
“A lot of guns that are not being used, they’re being stolen by the criminals,” said Tony Garrett of Central Alabama CrimeStoppers. “If you’re not using it for self defense, then we’re asking that you go ahead and destroy it, and the way you destroy it is by turning it in to us.”…
