Gov. Ivey ends state of emergency after winter storm

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( Trussville Tribune ) — Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced today that the state of emergency that was declared ahead of last week’s severe winter weather will end at midnight.

The state of emergency covered 37 counties in the state, including Jefferson and St. Clair.

According to the National Weather Service, Birmingham saw approximately 2 inches of snowfall last Friday, Jan. 10.
